Go Natural

Hello everyone,

I know you all must be eager to know which product I am gonna review today. Well I thought lemme share some easy and useful home-made face pack recipes with you. I personally like face packs a lot, well who doesn’t..? 🙂

Tired of acne pimples and their marks? Go natural this time. I am sure when it comes to skin problems or skin care products, we ladies do not hesitate spending on expensive creams, salon treatments and what not. Today I will share some easy face pack recipes using those ingredients which are easily available in our Indian kitchen.

Before telling you about the face packs please keep the following points in mind
1) Face packs should be applied on cleansed face
2) Make sure you are not allergic to any of the ingredients of the face packs
3) Avoid making any kind of facial movements (like talking, laughing, etc) because this could cause wrinkles on your face.
4) Use of a moisturizer is essential after face pack.
5) Be patient because natural remedies take time but will definitely give you the best results.

Face packs for treating acne pimples and their marks.

Pack-1 :- Mix fuller’s earth (multani miti) with rosé water and lemon juice. Apply on cleansed face and neck. Keep it for 20 minutes or till it dries and rinse well. Pat your face dry and apply moisturizer. Do this just once a week. (Multani miti 2tspn or as per your need to cover your entire face and neck. Equal quantity of rosé water and lemon juice to form a thick paste of the mixture)

Pack-2 :- Gram flour/besan (channe ka aata) with curd/yogurt, mix well to form a thick paste. Apply on clean face and neck. Keep it for 20-30 minutes. When it gets completely dry damp your face slightly with water and scrub gently in circular motion and rinse off. Pat your face dry and apply moisturizer. Do this thrice a week or even everyday if you want.

Pack-3 :- Apply paste of mint leaves (pudhina leaves) and honey. This can be done every alternate day.

Pack-4 :- Mix mulltani miti, neem paste, camphor (kapur) with rosé water. Apply and keep for 15-20 minutes rinse and apply moisturizer. Do this once a week.

Pack-5 for pimplemarks :- 2spn multani miti, 1spn neem paste, 4 cloves powdered, a pinch of camphor and rose as per need to form a thick paste of the mixture. Apply on clean face and neck. Keep for 20 minutes and rinse well, pat dry and apply moisturizer. Do this once a week.

Warning- you need not do all of these packs, choose any one of these packs and do it regularly as per instructions. People with sensitive skin avoid using multani miti because it would be harsh on your skin. You can replace multani miti with besan for sensitive skin.

That’s all for today. Do try these face packs and lemme know whether you like them. You can mail me on my I’d elvira.goundar@gmail.com
Will try to bring to you more of such interesting and easy face pack recipes. Cya take care. Stay healthy and gorgeous 🙂

20130818-131023.jpg

It’s a day and night cream. A light weight creamy white coloured cream. The tub contains 75ml cream in it. It has a sweet pleasant fragrance.
Apply a small amount on the face after cleansing and toning in the morning and night.

INGREDIENTS- Aqua, ethylhexyl stearate, glycerin, cetearyl alcohol, acetylated lanolin, butyrospermum parkii butter, cetyl alcohol, peg-20 stearate, phenoxyethanol, tetrahydroxypropyl ethylenediamine, carbomer, imidazolidinyl urea, parfum, methylparaben, propylparaben, ethylparaben, lavandula angustifolia extract, vaccinium myrtillus extract, linalool, potassium sorbate, ci 17200, ci 42090

PROS-
1) 100% organic in nature.
2) Day and night cream
3) Easily absorbs in the skin
4) Pleasant fragrance
5) Moisturises and leaves the skin Kooning radiant

CONS-
1) Contains parabens
2) Makes the skin oily after an hour or so.

SUMMARY- Hmmm, well the ingredient list scares me. Still a good enough cream, which won’t have any bad effects on your skin. Though Oriflame claims it to be for all skin type, it would suit dry skin best. It won’t do any bad to sensitive and normal skin too. Not recommended for oily skin since it would make your skin oily after sometime. It’s a day and night cream so you don’t need to have two different creams for the day and night. Overall it doesn’t cause any breakouts so sensitive skin people don’t need to think twice before using it.

I would rate this blueberry and lavender cream 4/5 stars 🙂

That’s all for now. See you all very soon with another review. Till then stay healthy and gorgeous….!

Pure nature organic blueberry and lavender toner

Hello everyone,

I am back with another Oriflame product review. Last time I had reviewed the blueberry an lavender face wash and had also mentioned about its toner and face cream. So here I am, today I am going to review the PURE NATURE ORGANIC BLUEBERRY AND LAvENDER EXTRACT CALMING TONER.
For who didn’t see my last post I have uploaded the set of the blueberry and lavender products bellow

20130813-151625.jpg

Starting the review with its packaging and price
PACKAGING AND PRICE- Of course it looks cute. It comes in a sturdy, transparent bottle, with a white cap. You can see its image bellow. Oriflame offers many discounts every month so the price of the products keeps fluctuating every now and then

20130813-152642.jpg

DIRECTIONS FOR USE- Apply it with the help of a cotton ball after each time you wash your face with a cleanser or a face wash.

INGREDIENTS – AQUA, PEG 40, HYDROGENATED CASTOR OIL, GLYCERIN, PHENOXYETHANOL, IMIDAZOLIDINYL UREA, PARFUM, PANTHENOL, SODIUM CITRATE, METHYLPARABEN, DISODIUM EDTA, PROPYLPARABEN, ETHYLPARABEN, LAVANDULA ANGUSTIFOLIA EXTRACT, LINALOOL, VACCINIUM MYRTILLUS EXTRACT, CITRIC ACID, SODIUM HYALURONATE, CI 17200 CI42090.

PROS
1) Travel friendly
2) Cute packaging
3) Good fragrance
4) 100% organic in nature
5) Doesn’t cause any break outs or irritation to the skin.
6) Can be Used by all skin type people

CONS- If I start listing the cons, it would be a long list so I will sum up the cons in my summary. Here I will just list main cons of this product
1) It has parabens
2) Too many chemicals

SUMMARY – The main characteristic of a toner is to tighten the pores. Since I don’t have any major problem about large pores, I can not tell you for sure if this toner tightens the pores or not. Coming to the other claims, oriflame says that the blueberry and lavender toner calms the skin, makes it soft and prepares the skin for the application of skin. I don’t think this toner lives up to its claims. After applying the toner I don’t get any calming feel. The skin feels a bit sticky after application. It makes the skin look dull, in fact the skin looks more radiant before applying it.

I would give this product 2 stars out of 5 just for the cute look and pleasant fragrance.

Cya lovely readers Ela would b back soon with her review on the blueberry and lavender cream.

Where can you find Oriflame products..?
You can avail Oriflame products from Oriflame distributors/consultants/members world wide. You can even get Oriflame products directly from the Oriflame outlets in your city, if you are an Oriflame member.

Summary- Before purchasing any skin-care products, it is always best to choose the products that would suit your skin type. This would give you the best results. Though the catelogue suggests the blueberry and lavender face wash is for all skin type, it would best suit normal-dry and sensitive skin people. It is an extremely mild face wash so it doesn’t remove makeup properly.

I would rate this face wash 3.5 stars out of 5
